Grifton is a town located in Pitt County, North Carolina, United States. As per the US Census Bureau, the estimated population of Grifton, NC in 2019 was 2,241. It has a total area of 1.1 square miles (2.9 km²). Grifton is situated at the intersection of US Highway 11 and NC 118, approximately 10 miles south of Ayden and 16 miles south of Greenville.

The town of Grifton is known for its annual Shad Festival, which is held in April to celebrate the return of shad fish in the nearby rivers. The Shad Festival features carnival rides, live music, a parade, a river run, and various activities and food stands.

Grifton is also home to the Contentnea-Savannah Water Management District, which manages the area's water resources, and Grifton School, which is part of Pitt County Schools. Additionally, the town has several local restaurants, shops, and parks.
